As the number of people watching videos on YouTube increases every day, it’s clear that video can be a powerful tool for any business.  Video is dynamic, visual, and something that can be shared across multiple platforms.  It’s no wonder that more and more businesses are starting to take advantage of all that video has to offer.

Are you interested in making a video to feature your auto body shop and its services?
At Stratosphere Studio, we think that every collision repair facility could benefit from the use of video.

To help you get started, here is our list of DOs and DON’Ts for video production:

DO establish your purpose.
Before making a video, it’s important to outline what you hope to accomplish with it.  Do you want to give your website visitors a glimpse into your shop and its facilities?  Do you want to introduce yourself and your staff?  Do you want to feature a product, a piece of equipment, or a special procedure?  Once you know exactly what your video should be about, then the next steps will more easily fall into place.

DON’T showcase more than one topic in the same video.
Unless they’re strongly related, it’s best not to address more than one major topic at a time in a video.  In order to increase your chances for success, keep your video brief and to-the-point.  Your goal should be to present your material clearly, professionally, and quickly.  This will help you to keep your viewer’s attention for the entire duration.  If you want to address more than one major topic, then consider doing more than one video.

DO prepare the setting and the script.
You don’t have to build a set or write a word-for-word script, but do be sure to prepare everything ahead of time.  Rehearse what you plan to say in the video and determine exactly where you want the equipment set up.  If you need any tools or equipment, then have them ready.  Make sure the environment looks clean, bright, and inviting.  You want to make a great impression on your viewers.

DON’T forget to post your video in multiple locations.
There’s no need to only have your video on YouTube.  Go ahead and have it hosted there, but then be sure to embed it on your website, on your social networking feeds, and in your email marketing.  Put it anywhere that might be beneficial to you.

DO hire professionals.
If you want a professional-looking video, you will need to hire professionals to film and edit it.  A company with an experienced production staff will use the right lighting and equipment to make your video appealing to view.  At Stratosphere Studio, we can work with you and your shop’s budget to produce a video you can afford.  We also provide other digital marketing services, such as website design, blogging, search engine optimization, and more.  For information on our current low-cost trial packages, click the link below.
