At some point, every business finds itself in an important discussion about branding, whether it’s in the beginning stages of developing the business or some years down the line when it’s time for an update.  Because the collision repair industry is fairly large and you can find several body shops in nearly every town across the country, it’s particularly important to distinguish your shop from the rest.  With the right branding, you can accomplish this in no time—especially if you take advantage of your branding opportunities online.

Here are some tips to help you get started on your collision repair facility’s online branding campaign:

Rethink your website design.
Just as you would redesign your logo and print materials in any thorough branding campaign, you’ll need to rethink your website design.  Ask yourself these questions: does my website reflect the kind of automotive shop we are?  Does it adequately express the quality of work we do?  Does it demonstrate the level of professionalism we exhibit?  Does it show how much we value our customers?  Perhaps your website already accomplishes most of what you need it to.  Either way, it’s important to take a step back periodically to ensure that your website portrays your shop in the best possible way.

Incorporate photos.
One of the best ways to express your shop’s brand is by incorporating photos throughout your website and social networks.  If you can, have professional photos taken of your shop and the staff.  It’s worth the money to have great photos taken and you can get a lot of use out of them.  Plus, it will set you apart from the other shops out there that are using stock photos or no photos at all.  Another great way to use photos to reflect your brand is to snap pictures of the work you’re doing each week and post them on your website and your social networking pages.  It’s a perfect way to show the quality of your work and it demonstrates your passion for collision repair.

Be consistent across all online platforms.
Once you’ve established your brand effectively on your website, be sure to incorporate that feel in any other online or mobile platforms you use, like Facebook, Google +, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, and more.  Update your logo, photos, design colors, and even mission statement, if your shop has one.  The more consistent you are with your branding, the more professional your shop will appear to your visitors and followers.
