Meet Abby, our newest blogging and social media addition

Talk about being in the right place at the right time.

My husband and I just moved to Bel Air, Maryland and were taking a walk down Main Street with our 3-month-old daughter, checking out the town.  We checked out some of the little shops we passed, along with a few restaurants, a music store, and a coffee shop.  Eventually we found ourselves in front of an eye-catching orange sign titled Stratosphere Studio.  I was curious about it, so I stopped and read the other information posted on the window, learning that the Studio specializes in internet marketing for businesses.  I turned to my husband and said, “This might be the place I’ve been looking for!”

Before coming to Bel Air, my marketing background took some interesting twists and turns over the last ten years.  During college and grad school I focused on writing, research, and marketing.  After graduation I was hired at a major non-profit theatre company near Philadelphia, where I worked my way up from Box Office Manager to Associate Director of Marketing.  I learned a lot about marketing during my years there, especially about how to market with a limited budget.  And internet marketing just happened to be my forte.

After having our baby girl, though, my husband and I decided to move to Bel Air to be near my family.  He found a great job right away and I was looking for somewhere that I could use my skills in marketing.

So when I saw the Stratosphere Studio sign, I just had a feeling that this was the place for me.

I walked inside and immediately fell in love with the retro feel of space.  Tom, the owner, greeted me and I asked if he happened to be hiring.  He said that his business was growing rapidly and he was now in need of help.

Allow me to introduce myself.  I’m Abby, the newest addition to the Stratosphere Studio staff.  I will be contributing to online content for our clients, particularly with blog writing and developing social media.  I feel very lucky to have found a place where I get to do exactly what I enjoy doing.  It doesn’t even feel like “work.”

Stratosphere’s slogan is “Where the sky is the limit” and it’s the perfect mantra for Tom.  During my first week on the job I quickly saw how phenomenal he is at what he does.  He’s not only super energetic, but he’s also brimming with ideas for his clients.  He thinks about them even when he’s not at the office, jotting down thoughts at any time of day or night.  He listens to their needs and tailors his marketing plans for their brands and budget.

I promise I’m not saying all of this because I work for him!  I’m saying it because Tom’s spirit is contagious.  I am finding myself thinking about our clients all the time, coming up with ideas even when I’m standing in line at the supermarket or putting my baby to bed.  My goal is to drive more web traffic to our clients’ pages, to dramatically increase their sales figures, and to give them happier, more informed customers.  When we study the analytics and see such positive results each week, it feels amazing.

I’m looking forward to working with all of our new clients, as well as the great businesses we already have on our roster.  And I’m looking forward to sharing more thoughts with you, our readers, in the days and months to come.

Nice to meet you!
