If you are just starting to dive into online marketing strategies for your auto body shop, you might be overwhelmed with all there is to keep track of. Even seasoned collision repair marketing professionals can easily get bogged down with the many details involved in effective online marketing campaigns. First, there are your website updates and your regular blogs to post. Then there’s Facebook and Twitter and any other social media you participate in. And finally, there’s trying to track the results of everything you’re doing to ensure that you’re tactics are paying off. People use many different methods to organize all of these tasks and their corresponding data, but it’s important to find what works for you. In most cases, it’s best to keep things as simple as possible, for sanity’s sake. To help you keep track of your shop’s online marketing, here are some tools you should try:
HubPpot’s Marketing Library
We are big fans of HubSpot at Stratosphere Studio, because the company offers a bevy of marketing resources that are available for free. Take a look at their library for helpful eBooks, templates, and worksheets. If you have trouble keeping your social media schedule organized, download their Social Media Publishing Schedule. For help with scheduling blog posts, download the Blog Editorial Calendar. If you like these schedules, then why not combine them into one spreadsheet? While you’re at it, I suggest tweaking them to include tracking information. All you need to do is add a column to each page for listing how many people viewed your posts, “liked” them, and/or shared them. It’s wonderful to have all of this information in one place.
Project Management Programs
If you have a team of people working on your auto body shop marketing, consider using a large-scale project manager, like Basecamp or MS Project. Other great programs that work for both individual or team use include Asana, OmniFocus, and Trello.
Note-taking Platforms
With the many great note-taking programs and apps available to us today, it’s getting much easier to keep important information in one place. One of my favorites is Evernote, because of its easy accessibility across multiple devices and its intuitive interface. Another excellent program is Microsoft’s OneNote, which shares many of the same characteristics as Evernote.
